Manually approving upsells can be useful since it gives you the opportunity to ensure that the services are able to be implemented before allowing the guest to purchase them. For instance, if a guest has already purchased late check-out, there may not be time to ensure sufficient cleaning for an early check-in. Also, services such as a stocked fridge, or a welcome basket, may be dependent on staff availability. Here is how to turn on this feature!
1. Go to the Listings tab in Enso, and select the listing group or listing that you would like to manually approve upsells for.
2. Select Upsells, then select the upsell that you would like to be able to manually approve. Click on it, or if you are creating a new upsell, select Add upsell or choose one of the Recommended upsells.
3. Next, scroll down to Upsell options, and toggle on the Manually approve purchase feature.
4. Click save.
5. Now, in the Messages tab in Enso, whenever a guest requests an upsell, you will have a pop-up in their booking panel along the right side of your conversation with them, allowing you to approve or decline that upsell.
6. If you approve the upsell, the guest will purchase it and your booking panel will show Paid. If you decline the upsell, your booking panel will show Cancelled.
Now you will be able to receive a message whenever a guest requests a certain upsell, allowing you to approve or deny the request based on availability!
