There's more than one way to add content onto a listing — and knowing the difference will save you a lot of duplicate editing down the road.
This article uses upsells as the example, but everything here applies to your fees, check-in steps, guidebooks, and checkout steps too.
Where to Start: Create button
Clicking on Create Upsell at the top right will automatically create an upsell that applies to All Listings. You can, however, edit the Applies To section to change the applicable listings for the upsell.
Clicking on Create Upsell next to All Listings, a Listing Group or a specific Listing will create the upsell in the applicable listing based on where you clicked. This again, can always be edited.
The Four Ways to Add Content
Create From Scratch
A blank content page with no pre-set configuration whatsoever. Good for content to specific to your business that is not already covered in our templates.
Create From a Template
Pre-filled content, and more importantly, built-in mechanisms.
💡 Tip: If there is a template available for your upsell, fee, or guidebook type, we recommend using it instead of starting from scratch. This way, you’ll have pre-filled content and settings tailored specifically for that type of content.
For upsells: To set up a time-based upsell, Early check-in templates already handle updating and configuring check-in times; post-stay extension templates already check whether the night is available. Simply use the template for the corresponding upsell and customize it as needed.
For fees: If you want to add an optional fee or offer guests a choice between two fees, try using the Optional Damage Waiver template along with the Security Deposit or Waiver templates. For charge or pre-authorization deposits, please use the Security Deposit - Charge or Security Deposit - Hold templates accordingly.
For guidebooks: Places Guidebooks are a fantastic way to help guests explore nearby neighborhood attractions. EnsoAI will show you places within a radius you choose, allowing you to select up to 10 spots to feature in the guidebook. Each place includes descriptions based on user reviews and the property’s location to make it even more helpful for your guests.
