Guidebook fields explained

Updated this week

Below is a breakdown of each guidebook field and how to use it.

📍 Place field (local recommendations)

Use this to highlight a location (restaurant, attraction, coffee shop, etc.).

When you add a place, EnsoAI automatically fills:

  • Website

  • Directions

  • Description

  • Image

  • Star rating

You can edit any of these details to match your guest experience.

🧾 Summary field (intro + table of contents)

Use this as the opening section of your guidebook.

You can also enable a clickable table of contents by checking the “Display table of contents” option. This will help your guests quickly navigate through your Guidebook.

🏷️ Header field (organize sections)

Headers create structure inside your guidebook and also populate the table of contents automatically.

You can add:

  • Titles

  • Icons

  • Images

✅ List field (quick readable items)

Lists are useful for:

  • Amenities

  • House rules

  • Packing suggestions

  • Local tips

  • Check-in steps

You can format lists as:

  • Bulleted

  • Numbered

  • Divided

✍️ Text field (long-form content)

Use text fields for detailed information that doesn’t fit cleanly into a list — like:

  • Parking instructions

  • WiFi details

  • Trash & recycling guidance

  • Emergency information

  • Neighborhood notes

🔗 Button field (links to actions)

Add clickable buttons that link to:

  • Website (directions, menus, booking pages)

  • Guidebook (send guests to another guidebook)

  • Upsell (late checkout, rentals, add-ons, etc.)

You can customize:

  • Button text (e.g. Visit Website, View Guidebook, Check out Upsells)

  • Link destination (URL, guidebook, or upsell from your Enso account)

🖼️ Image field (visual content)

Use images to make your guidebook more engaging.

You can upload:

  • From your device

  • From the internet

  • From the Enso photo bank

Optional settings:

  • ✅ “Show full image” (prevents cropping)

  • Add an image label (private note for organization) (help.ensoconnect.com)

Note:

  • You can change the order of each section by dragging the cards using the ≡ icon.

  • Additionally, you have the option to provide EnsoAI with a prompt to auto-generate content for any section. This makes it easy to maintain a consistent and professional tone throughout your guidebook.

  • You can also insert custom fields anywhere in the guidebook to personalize the content for each guest, creating a more tailored experience.
