3. Configure your messaging channels

Stay connected with your guests through different channels

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Messaging setup ensures guests receive the right information at the right time — before arrival, during the stay, and after checkout — using the channels your team prefers.

Why Messaging Channel Setup Matters

  • Improves response time – centralized messaging reduces missed messages.

  • Enhances guest experience – guests can message via the channel they’re most comfortable with.

  • Creates consistency – outbound messages come from the correct brand identity and channel configuration.

How It Works in Enso Connect

Messaging channels are configured inside your Business Settings and power both:

  • automated messages (workflows)

  • direct messages

Emails

Enso automatically creates an Enso email address for your account (e.g. [email protected])

If you want to send from another address:

  • Click Add Email

  • Follow the linking instructions

  • Verify the sender email so Enso can deliver mail from that domain

Phone Numbers & SMS

SMS lets you contact guests quickly and is ideal for urgent updates.

To activate:

  • Click Enable SMS

  • Note: SMS is a paid feature (pricing depends on your provider, typically Twilio)

If you want to ensure all messages come from the same number, you can purchase a Managed Phone Number via Add Phone. This way, you can have peace of mind knowing that all your messages will come from one number only.

You can also add a Display Number (visible to guests in the Boarding Pass) even if it is not used for sending messages.

‼️ SMS billing notice

SMS is a paid feature and charges apply based on usage. We recommend reviewing SMS billing and charges before enabling SMS and using it carefully to avoid unexpected costs.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp lets you communicate with guests through a familiar, high-engagement channel—especially useful for international guests.

To enable Whatsapp:

  1. Go to Messaging

  2. Click on Enable SMS or Connect just below the WhatsApp icon

  3. Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup.

Once connected, WhatsApp will be available as a messaging option for guest conversations (when the guest has a WhatsApp-enabled phone number).

We have a step-by-step guide available for you to follow and set up your WhatsApp account here.
